American Medical Association Manual of Style This is the single-most important book for medical communicators. In addition to style, the chapters provide practical information on how to prepare an article for publication, terminology, measurement and quantitation (including statistics), and technical issues.

Huth EJ. Scientific Style and Format: The CBE Manual for Authors, Editors, and Publishers. This excellent style manual was prepared by the former editor of Annals of Internal Medicine for the Council of Biologic Editors. Compared with the AMA’s style manual, the CBE manual is more comprehensive and designed for a slightly broader audience.
